About the Internship
We are seeking a creative and motivated Marketing and Communications Intern to support our mission by helping tell our story, expand our reach, and strengthen community engagement. Working closely with the Executive Director, the intern will help develop and implement a communications and marketing plan that elevates our programs, values, and impact. This internship is ideal for college students interested in nonprofit leadership, strategic communications, and digital storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Director in developing a comprehensive communications and marketing plan aligned with the organization’s mission and goals
Support strategy and content creation for social media platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and community involvement
Assist with website content updates and basic website design to ensure clarity, accessibility, and visual consistency
Help translate program outcomes and impact into compelling stories and visuals
Support branding efforts to ensure a consistent voice and message across all communications
Research best practices in nonprofit marketing and audience engagement
Track and summarize engagement metrics and insights to inform strategy
Provide general communications and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
Currently enrolled college student in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, design, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Interest in mission driven work and community impact
Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital content creation
Interest in website design or content management systems preferred, but not required
Organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working directly with senior leadership
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
