Intern Research Technologist

Integral BioSystems is a specialty drug delivery Contract Research Organization based in Bedford, MA, in a rapid growth phase, with partnerships with the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The company also has patented innovations that have led to collaborations with pharma and biotech companies in targeted drug delivery.  

 

The company is seeking talented individuals who are recent graduates with B.S. or M.S. degrees, in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology. The right candidate typically receives a job offer after the conclusion of the internship position (6 months). Two positions are available, immediately.

Requirements and Potential for Additional Training

  • B.S., or M.S. in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Biological Sciences, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering. Recent grads are welcome. 
  • Permanent Residentship or U.S. Citizenship is required. 
  • Analytical experience in HPLC (Agilent 1100) is desired, even if it is in the form of undergraduate training. Some experience in process development is a plus. 
  • Familiarity in electrospinning, tensile testing a plus. 
  • Coursework in pharmaceutical science is a plus. 
  • Interest in learning new concepts in drug delivery and formulation sciences is required, such as sustained release dosage forms, such as depots, microspheres, lipid nanoparticles and nano-suspensions.
  • Interest in learning new techniques such as emulsification, spray-drying, corneal permeability, lyophilization. 
  • Interest in learning new analytical techniques such as particle sizing, viscosity, DSC, osmolality, Karl Fisher, Microscopy, HPLC, GC.
  • Good report writing skills is required, since the candidate will be writing R&D reports. 
  • Organizationally, the candidate must be a well-organized person, taking pride in her/his work, well-versed in maintaining records, signed-off reports and detailed notes in laboratory notebooks. 

 

Job Duties:

The Intern will be enthusiastic and proactive with projects. The candidate will be assisting in electrospinning, pre-formulation, formulation development, process development and scale-up experiments. 

The ideal candidate will be organized and be able to plan and implement experiments efficiently.
