Biostatistics Summer Intern

Role Summary

The biostatistics summer intern for this position within Global Biometrics department will work closely with experienced statisticians on statistical research topics related to innovative applications of deep learning methods in clinical trials.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform a literature review to identify relevant methods.
  • Develop deep learning method in clinical trials.
  • Conduct simulation experiments and real case studies to evaluate the proposed method.
  • Give a presentation on the developed method and simulation/real data results to colleagues from cross-functional team and global biometrics department at the conclusion of the summer internship.

Education and Required Skills

  • Candidates must currently pursue a PhD degree in biostatistics, statistics, applied mathematics, or related programs.
  • Candidates must have completed at least two years of graduate work and passed qualification exams prior to the start of the internship and will return to school in fall 2024.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience with deep/machine learning methods and applications.
  • Must be proficient in Python, R and/or other statistical software.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and computational skills.
  • Desire to innovate and think creatively.

Travel and Location

  • This position can be completed remotely. Infrequent travel to the Boston office may be required.
