Software Development Intern

Siemens EDA is looking for a software development engineer to work as an Intern in the Hardware Assisted Verification division (HAV). In emulation systems, custom software compiles a circuit design's high-level description into a low-level binary representation that can be loaded and run on the emulation hardware. The individual that fills this position will become a member of the emulator compiler specialists developing the compiler software for Siemens next generation emulators.

The Software Development Engineer will have responsibilities in the development and improvement of the part of the compiler that analyzes the customer design in order to map it on the emulator resources. The individual will participate in the design and implementation of new functionality for this part of the compiler as well as support current functionality. The candidate will work on high-level algorithm design, as well as on the “ones and zeroes” of the programmable emulator hardware. The work will be mostly in C++ on Linux. This position will include interaction with other software teams as well as HAV hardware teams in an international, multi-site, development environment.

While you will work with general supervision of senior engineers on complex projects, it will also be important to be able to work independently and make design judgments when necessary. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complex problems and developing innovative solutions.

Projects will include:

·Developing software in C++ for emulator compilation functionality.

·Developing interactive debug tools in C++ that helps engineers to support customers faster and more efficiently.

·Assist in maintaining our existing software product.

·Passionate, driven, and proactive.

·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Effective organizational and time management skills.

·Desire to continuously improve and learn about new areas.
