Design/Product Development Intern

Summary:

Brahmin’s Internship Program allows students an introduction to the Luxury Goods business.  Interns will have the ability to see each area of the business as well as work collaboratively within their department to apply learning to practice.  With department partnerships in Sales and Planning, Marketing and eCommerce, as well as Design and Product Development, we offer tailored opportunities for each intern to have a dynamic learning experience.  This role will be at our Corporate Headquarters in Fairhaven, MA and last 8 weeks.  Throughout these 8 weeks, each intern will be given the tools to build an internship presentation to showcase their learnings.

Internship Initiatives

Under the Direction of Design and Product Development, you will be able to work cross-functionally on the following initiatives:

• Seasonal Trend and Color Concepting
• Leather and Material Development Strategies
• Introduction to Handbag Product Design including CAD, Technical Design Specifications and Pattern Making
• Handbag Component and Hardware Development Strategies
• Collaboration with Product Merchandising, Design, Materials Design, and Product Development Teams

Minimal requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or continued education
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail, very task-oriented, and a self-starter
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Preferred cumulative GPA 3.0
