Communications Assistant Co-op

The Communications Division encompasses media relations, wildland fire, public education, and the award-winning magazine NFPA Journal.
 
General Job Description  
The co-op joins an active public affairs office and assists with a variety of public relations activities. It is a hands-on experience where the successful candidate performs a number of important tasks, works with people on all levels of the organization and develops key public relations skills for today's workplace. The co-op student comes away with skills and a portfolio.
 
JOB DUTIES
Write press releases
Contribute to NFPA's social media outlets (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) and blogs
Data maintenance
Data analytics
Work on media distribution of press releases
Write for NFPA publications including NFPA Journal and e-newsletters
Video production
Podcasts
Assist in special event/press event preparation
