Civil Engineering Intern

“There's always something going on! The project is very large and quite long, so things never get boring. The site changed daily and I was always learning new things. People are always happy and willing to answer my many questions, and my supervisors were always willing to cater to things I was particularly interested in.”

“During my experience last summer, I got a lot of experience in the field and also with paperwork in the office, keeping track of lots of spreadsheets, submittals, RFI's, daily progress reports, and QA/QC tasks. I also liked that even as interns, we were treated and trusted as if we were actual engineers, which gave us a lot of responsibility, but we were also given a lot of support when something was unclear. People were always willing to help us and answer our questions and encouraged us to ask questions. I also enjoyed learning how to talk to people in our company and also subcontractors, learning about the materials that were being used, the processes that were active, and learning about the company itself and what it would be like to be an engineer in the field.”
